The man was a nut. A complete and total nut. I watched his shows, I saw just how crazy he was.

[censored] with them long enough and they will get you. He's lucky to have lived as long as he did.

Very sad and I'm not trying to diminish that but this should put the baby incident and those claiming the child was perfectly safe in a slightly different light. People screw up, sometimes fatally. Don't take chances with someone else's life, especially that of a child.

I have always wondered how he lived this long. Guess he knows now how the world started.

Was truly a freak accident...Jack Hanna was speaking about it and said there has been only like 3 stingray deaths in YEARS.....just an unlucky hit into his heart.
I was married by a judge. I should have asked for a jury.

I hate to hear it. I thought the man took a couple risk to many. But that was his life. And in the end that one extra risk may of been what cost him.
Always figured a croc would mangle him for life. He seem to live for the adventure of pushing the envelope.
    Tragic.

My kids loved to watched his shows. He had more nerves than I would at some of the wild actions he took just to get film of different animals. This is sad news. I saw earlier on the news that they have the final moments of his life all caught on film. Seems he grabbed the sting ray and pulled it out of his own chest, but died right after.
I saw a man that was interviewed cause he too suffered a sting ray attack in his hand, the pain he said was terrible.

bob maybe you should try being silent on an issue such as this. This man had more guts than you probably ever will. Notice he donated countless time and energy to conservation and wildlife education. Whereas, you focus on taking a cheapshot against a courageous deceased man. And you have wrestled how many gators and caught how many snakes, or maybe you have educated countless people about wildlife. Everyone is brave behind a keyboard.

    Re: Crocodile Hunter dead

I was and am a very very big fan of his...call him a nut if you want because many people have been called nuts for being passionate about something they love...some would say its nuts to get in a race car and go 200mph every weekend but just like Dale Earnhardt he died doing something he loved. The thing I really loved about Steve Irwin was the special connection he seemed to have with children and vice versa. The first thing I thought about when I saw the news was how terrible its going to be for my niece and nephew when they hear about this. Not many people in this world had a kinship with kids the way this guy did...so no matter what people say about him that makes him pretty darn cool in my book and a life well worth living.
